Hello,
I've been trying to reset this Macbook's Log in password for like two days now it belongs to my cousin's deceased friend, i've done this before with my brother's Macbook Air twice because he has the memory of a goldfish.

anyway the issue with this Macbook that i cant access the (COMMAND+S) to enter the commands, as soon as it boots, it shows me something like "efiboot loaded...etc" for like a split second and jumps to the login screen. after that i tried the 'resetpassword' command line in the terminal after booting in recovery mode but there's no volume showing or users in the 'select the user account menu' i hope someone can tell me what to do here because i have absolutely no clue

sorry for the poor English.

Try command-r during boot up for the recovery menu. There should be a menu option to reset the password.

Follow these instructions to boot to the recovery partition, then erase the hard drive and reinstall the operating system to get a new (clean) machine.

the idea of the whole thing is to get his data from the Macbook
