Hi everyone, my first post here.

I’ve bought a second hand MacBook Air 13 2011 (Model: A1369) recently and was told the battery is dead and the screen backlit isn’t working.

I was planning to use it as desktop and media center so I reinstalled macOS using external monitor, which worked as expected. When reinstalling OS, I realized the built in screen of the laptop turned on without any reason and turned back grey after around 2 minutes. I thought there may not be any hardware issue and maybe I could fix it.

I tried the startup diagnostics (press D when starting) and the result is “No issue found”.
I tried SMC reset and it works, it starts with built in display on but only lasts for several minutes then the backlit turned off again.
I tried NVRAM as well but only works for several minutes.

The seller told me the main issue is backlight ribbon cable. I’m wondering if it’s hardware issue.

Sorry for my English.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Cheers!
