I have a four/five month old Macbook. For about a month now, i've noticed that when i close the lid for the Macbook to go into standby, it occasionally restarts.

I also noticed that my Magsafe adapter wire has frayed and the plastic protection over the wire has come off.

I've tried the PRAM reset and the other one were you hold the power button for 15 seconds without the battery in or magsafe, the problem is still happening.

I spoke to Apple on the phone, and all they said was they cannot do anything as i'm out of my 1 month telephone support.

So i emailed steve jobs (so called, probably his customers service people) and i got an email back with a number and an extension to ring.

I just want to know, has anyone had any situations like this before?
Thanks

1 Buy AppleCare
2. Deal with the one time telephone support charge for being after 90 days one incident.
3. Go to an Apple Store.

Book an appointment with an Apple Store if you're close enough...the frayed power cord is a fire hazard...
