Hi all!

I’m looking to get a new MacBook Pro 16 to hopefully replace my old MBP and Windows Desktop PC.

I usually spend most of my day working with project management tools, but I also do video editing using Premiere Pro and VFX design on After Effects.

My current MBP is the base 15 inch MR932B/A

:: 2.2GHz i7

:: 16 GB RAM

:: 256GB SSD

:: 4GB Radeon Pro 555X

My Windows PC specs are:

:: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8 Core, 16 Thread - 4.1GHz Max Boost, 3.2GHz Base

:: GeForce® RTX 2070 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card

:: 32 GB (4 x 8GB)

:: 1TB Crucial SSD

:: 120 GB Kingston SSD

I love this PC! Spec is perfect for what I need and works like a dream. However, I want to replace both systems with one high-end MBP for portability (I hot-desk a lot!)

Looking at Apple, I was thinking about this spec for an MBP 16 inch:

:: 2.4GHz 8‑core 9th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz

:: 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 memory

:: AMD Radeon Pro 5500M with 8GB of GDDR6 memory

:: 1TB SSD storage

$3,499.00 for the lot

On paper… this spec is better than my Windows PC. But I’ve never invested this kinda power in a portable before… so will my performance be as good as the PC, especially when running processor/GPU intensive apps? How much faster than my old MBP would it feel?!

Thanks for reading!
