I just replaced the usb-c -2 port assembly on the left side of my macbook pro 2017 because it wasn't working and the computer
would not sleep without losing power. The same thing is happening even after the replacement.

I already tried a complete wipe of the hard drive and replaced the operating system so it's not a software issue.

I did the smc and pram reset before I replaced the assembly.

What else is there to try?

You need someone to diagnose and test the logic board. The port flex is like an extension cord. Replacing it won’t fix the actual issue.
