Macbook Pro mid 2009 and airplay 2

I've been reading about older MacBooks and integration with airplay, and from what I understood, they are not compatible with airplay mirroring. However my macbook pro mid 2009, can play music well through airplay 1 and iTunes with an airport express.

My question is, will it be possible to use Airplay 2 just to stream music to a speaker, using a Macbook Pro mid 2009?
