Hi!

I’m trying to transfer photos/videos from my phone to macbook via Image Capture. I have about 15,000 pics/vids on my phone which take up 81.5 gb of space. On the macbook, it shows that the import contains 15,980 items. Once it was done, the folder shows over 18,000 items, and takes up 77 gb of space. I’m confused as to why image capture is detecting almost 1000 extra items, but then the folder on my mac contains over 3000 items more yet takes up LESS space than the iPhone?! Any ideas? I just want to make sure I have everything in full quality before I transfer it to my hard drive.

I do not have icloud. I do not have optimize storage or anything on as I don’t use icloud. I didnt do a direct transfer from phone to hard drive because then it messes with the order/date of the pics.

Thanks a lot!
