Looks like you need to put it on an external disk - not on the same disk you want to install it on.
It might be good to post what model of Mac you want to install this on and what the current macOS is ?
Are you upgrading from a prior version? Do you have a "back up" before you begin? - A "back up" would be highly recommended.
