MacBookPro8,3 late-2011 beyond High Sierra

I manually created a flash drive (tutorial from youtube) and successfully installed High Sierra on my MBP. I wonder if I could install newer (Mojave onwards) versions this way without using fancy tools like OpenCore Legacy Patcher? I wanted a fully fuctioning MBP. Thanks.
