Hello,

A) I do not want to create a new installer in a USB stick, currently I have macOS Catalina 18.5.6 (18G73) to update version 10.15.7 why do I need the macOS 10.15.7 Update or Combo Update?

B) Which is the Safari number and build in macOS Catalina 10.15.7?

Thanks

Camelia

I always use the combo update as it contains every update from 10.15.1 to 10.15.7. I have seen system issues resolved by using the combo update. I also do a reset of SMC and PRAM after I install the update.

As far as Safari, I already had v14 installed before 10.15.7 so I can answer the question about which version of Safari is in 10.15.7. I suspect you will need to apply the Safari update separately.

6 hours took me to download the entire .dmg (4.49 GB (4,823,637,251 bytes)) o_O and I have a good internet connection, but task done! :)

Safari v14 is not part of the 10.15.7 update.

Thank you :)

^^^^I also alway use the Combo Updater. Six hours for downloado_O Wow. My internet connection is not especially fast, mid 30MPS download. I don't remember exactly how long it took me to download, but believe the time to download time was less than fifteen minutes.

I always use the Combo Updater as well.

At home I can download about 400 MB per HOUR, so the entire download would take me approximately 12 hours. (I pay for the slowest tier of AT&T U-verse internet, which is advertised as "up to 768 kbps.")

Usually I download big updates from work, where the above would take 5-10 minutes.

If you ask me I think the Apple servers were very busy when I download the Combo Updater, because when I download the Updater... https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2051?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

File size : 2.66 GB (2,859,603,750 bytes) it took 10 minutes with 25 seconds!

I have a good internet connection, I do not know what happens with the Combo Updater ?‍♀️

Had issues with the Auto Update from 10.15.6 to 10.15.7. After installation had the " accountsd " going crazy 150% to 250% CPU Usage. Would have run the Combo but Auto Update snuck in. Anyways, did an Internet Recovery Mode Erase and install. Got the 10.15.7 not the .6 version
