Does any body knows why MacOS High Sierra beta 6 takes more than 6 hours to encrypt a 250GB disk with the new file system APFS, while macOS Sierra only takes less than 20 minutes?
I did a new clean install with APFS only, then I encrypted in FileVault.
Another question. With this new file system, it is necessary to encrypt the complete disk in order to have a better security or only encrypt just the folders which require security with encryption?
I also noted that doing a clean install of macOS High Sierra take half the time than macOS Sierra.
Any info that helps to understand this will be appreciated.
Thanks.
