Hi everyone,
just wanted to ask out of curiosity, I have a 7,1 running Monterey at the moment and with one of the last system updates I ended up in a boot loop which was caused by my external Lacie Time Machine HDD as it seems (completed update fine after unplugging it). In one of the Facebook Mac Pro groups, another member also said that the MP7,1 seems to not like having external storage connected while updating.
The question now is: what else does it not like while updating?
Is it the best way to uninstall/disconnect all (additional) PCIe cards / peripherals when updating:
a) major OS update or even
b) minor security updates ?
How do you guys handle this?
My config in nothing really special, a real low end 7.1 so to say 😄 :
- 7.1 Mac Pro
- 8-Core W-3223
- 48GB RAM
- MSI RX 560
- Sonnet USB3 card (the old purple one)
- OWC Accelsior S mounting a 2TB Crucial MX500
- iLok Dongle connected to the internal USB Port
Thanks in advance!
