Hello guys,
Im writing here because some time ago I bought a MacPro 1,1. The thing is that i want to install windows 11 on it, I even bought those thick cd of 8.5gb in order to install it on the mac. My problem is that i need a GPU that allows me to see the bootscreen (or preboot screen) and I already know which ones can do this, certainly the ones that came with the MacPro 1,1 originally, but I only find very expensive ones on ebay.
Ive visited a web page in which a dude stated that the nvidia quadro fx 4500 AND FAMILY can show the preboot screen, so my question is: what the heck does that mean? whats the family exactly? and if the nvidia quadro fx 1700 512mb is part of that family, cause someone is selling me that las one at around 15 bucks and i do not want to loose money, thats it, thanks in advance:)

I'd choose a hd5770 Apple one, this with the bracket, dvi and 2 mini display ports.

The Intel-CPU MacPros will not run Windows 11, due to the non-supported (= old) CPUs and the lack of TPM. On the other hand, Windows 10 runs well on my MacPro2,1, with Apple's Mac-specific edition of the ATI Radeon HD 5870 showing the boot screens. As mentioned above, Apple's Mac-specific Radeon HD 5770 also shows boot screens (but generic PC editions of HD 5770 & 5870 & 6950 & 6970 & ... do not).

By the way, installing a 64-bit OS (e.g. Windows 10, Linux, or macOS 10.8-10.11) on a 64-bit Mac with 32-bit EFI (e.g. MacPro 1,1 or 2,1) is annoyingly tricky; you'll need to research your goal before you start.

Not that I've tried on mine but you can install Windows 11 on a MP 1,1. Just google for guides. There are a few out there.

I have the GTX680 flashed, but it couldn't show bootscreen, either.
However, as I used the SATA disk to boot Windows 10 installer, it still can got me to the menu where I can see and click to install Windows...

There is afaik no Kepler 32 bit EFI GPU bios available.

MP 1,1 & 2,1 = 32 bit EFI
MP 3,1 to 5,1 = 64 bit EFI
