Try the Spiderpodiums from Breffo, I have both versions, smartphone and tablet. Use the smartphone version in my car air vents (portrait or landscape) and have used the iPad the same way too (however found it works best on the headrest).

Neat promotional video. Grammar is off though and dunno about the music and apps usage. Product seems interesting but there are some that are similar to this too like Clingo but without the twisting and angling options.
