I like the idea of the MagSafe charger but I'm not a fan of how it comes with the phone when I pick it up. Does anyone know of any companies with a base for it so that the MagSafe charger stays on your desk / nightstand / table? I know other wireless chargers already do this but the MagSafe has the benefit of 15w charging and I also like how it aligns itself perfectly. I guess I could just use double-sided tape to secure it to my nightstand ?

You can literally buy any iPhone stand and easily convert it to a MagSafe stand. I have made 3 of them already.
This looks promising. I purchased one the other day, and hopefully it will work as advertised.

this looks nice but i don’t think this works with apple’s magsafe charger. seems like it works with their own charger and cases.
I’m not sure that’s the case. If you look at their site, it looks like they have designed a metal piece that is made to pair with the MagSafe charger, and to attach it to the stand. It’s an intriguing idea.
i too think it looks great. what throws me is the text says you have to use their case. maybe email them just to make sure.
I printed this one, works pretty decently. Magnet strength would probably be stronger if I wasn't using a case or use one of Apple's with the built in magnets.

Good point; they do not explicitly say it works with a caseless iPhone 12 or 12 Pro (or one in a non-MacBak case) and show no pictures to verify that it will. I was assuming it would since the new iPhones would magnetically stick to the MagSafe charger being held by their accessory, but I think you are right to want confirmation.
I’ll post pics when it comes in.
edit: I just got an email that the stand from MagBak just shipped, and will hopefully be able to pst pics by the weekend if not sooner.

It comes off the base pretty easily, granted I haven't tried the phone naked on it. The thing is fairly light, but I haven't had issues removing it with 1 hand. Increasing in the infill percentage for might add enough heft to keep it down. There are also some metal infused filaments out there that are as much as 4x as dense as your typical PLA, but they're harder to print with and will wear out the nozzle more quickly.
Interesting. I’m really shocked that there isn’t a ton of these flooding Amazon/eBay.
I got my calipers out to measure and it looks like the puck measures a shade over 56mm. I think I’m going to buy a cheap wooden phone stand then take a 55mm forstner bit and bore in a few mm then take a 45mm bit and bore the rest of the way thru. That will leave a recess for the puck to sit into then I’ll use a dremel to route for the wire base. Then if it’s not heavy enough cut some steel to mount to the bottom of the stand.
could be a fun little project!
Quick update. Attempt 1 didn’t go as smooth as I anticipated but I rushed and know what I did wrong. I just ordered another “base” to take my time and try again.

I use the Altair upright charging stand when I'm at my desk.
No fancy MagSafe animation (let's be honest, half of us bought it just for that cool green ring) but it works well.
For the Apple puck itself, I took a low-tech approach to making it friendlier to surfaces I use it on. I used a 2" furniture felt pad on the bottom to keep the aluminum base from scratching anything

As a pro-tip, it's much easier to remove the puck from the phone by pushing it sideways instead of pulling it straight off. Science!

I will admit I was quite disappointed with my Magsafe charger for mainly two reasons. Puck wouldn't stay in one spot, flopped all over desk/nightstand Extremely short cord which you can't replace I can't fix the 2nd one, but I did fix the 1st with this...
