My MacBook Air always had issue with the Mail app since Mavericks, and it is still not fixed in Yosemite.
Mail app would freeze entirely if I added certain gmail accounts, and I could easily replicate the problem on -this Mac-.
The Mail app would work fine if I didn't add those gmail accounts, but what is the point of using a Mail app if I couldn't check all my mail at the same place?
It worked perfectly during Mountain Lion, it's a shame the Apple Senior Tech promised me a fix and didn't deliver. (Had multiple phone calls, email, diagnostic reports)
