Mail seems to take forever to check messages now. It takes a good 30 seconds to get messages on my .mac account. I did a clean install. Is anyone else having problems with this?

I haven't had any problems with Mail.app yet.
In fact, it seems much faster, particularly on searching.
Right now, Mail.app is running on the desktop, but top in Terminal claims .0% usage.
Sending and recieving email are just like normal in terms of speed (fine).
Maybe you should buy an old 400Mhz Tibook like mine

I am having a problem with removing mail from server... I've got it set to remove when item is moved from Inbox and it has always worked fine with Jag but now it quits working after a while and I have to quit and relaunch mail before it cleans up the server.
