Mail - won't open and run...APP store No Updates ?

Hello:

I installed macOS High Sierra, no problems.

I can not open and run the "built-in" MAIL program?

Sometimes it pops up and within 1-2 secs, closes and then will not reopen.

If it does - (randomly) - same thing pops-up / instantly closes?

Any help?

Also, the APP store when checking Updates, shows "Cannot connect to APP store", yet
oddly enough, I can check the other APP store tabs, they load fine.

Help?
