iPhone Making phone calls, have to wait a bit before talking because of lag

For some strange reason, when someone calls me or I call them, I can't start talking right away after calling/answering, because my microphone isn't on yet, thus I have to wait 2-3 seconds before I can talk.

I find this very annoying, having to repeat things over and over again. I did restore today, that obviously didn't help. It's a iPhone 5, iOS 7.1. I think that I didn't have this problem while on 7.0, but I am not 100% sure.

Any suggestions?

I was just going to ask that same question. Seems like it's something related to Verizon and/or CDMA in general, in particular when answering a call.

Yep I've had that issue on several different phones for years. It's annoying when I call people and they think I butt dialed or something.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I am not even in US. It's TeliaSonera's network, GSM.

I use AT&T with my iPhone 5 and it does the same thing.

It was the same on my iPhone 4 running iOS4, 5 and 6. My iPhone 5 running iOS6 and now 7 still does it. I'm in the UK and not on Verizon..

Same issue across the pond - iPhone 5S and Telenor in Denmark. Several of my friends with 5/5S also have the same problem, regardless of the operator.

This annoying bug is still present and I can't do anything about it. Do you guys still have this issue? You have to wait 1-2 seconds after answering before you can talk or others can't hear you. I've tried it on 4S, 5 and 6, every single one has this bug.
