Maps on Mac: Why can't I share this route?

A friend is coming to visit but wants to *mostly* take back roads, plus a portion of a bypass.

I created the route in Maps on my Mac, but the Share button is disabled.

I read where the "&" can mess that up, but when I replace it with "and" the route changes.

What gives?

I did a test and it's the same for me.

You can't share routes that contain multiple stops.

Note: You can only share driving routes that don’t contain multiple stops.
