Instructions stat that both memory cards must be identical, does this mean, if I choose to place a 2 Gb card in one slot & leave the 1 Gb card in the other the system will not recognize the 2 Gb card ? I have ordered a 2 Gb card, I currently have two 1 Gb cards installed. Checking the MacBook using the serial number, it states the max memory at 4 Gb.

In Macbooks you can have different size memory sticks. But they won't run in dual channel mode so it'll be slightly slower in accessing the memory.

From his previous posts I saw he has a 2006 MB. The question of which version he has would tell us if the max is 2GB or 4GB.
