Message.app missing features from iOS counterpart

Where are the animated message effects and the animations like when you send confetti, or other stuff. Not sure why this isn't supported on the desktop version. I thought Apple was about consistency. It's annoying reading my messages and seeing (sent with Gentle Effect), etc.

Agreed. I don't think they'll add this for a while though.

That’ll probably happen when they rewrite it in UIKit.
