Each time my iPhone reboots on iOS11 (Example after the battery dies and I have to charge) Messages notifications flood the notifications at the top.

I admit I don't use Messages that much and can have several hundred unread messages until I manually just clear them, this only started happening though since iOS11. Is there any way to disable these notifications on boot up? (I still want to retain the odd notification if a new message comes through however)

A year later and iOS12...bump :)

Still the same issue, if I have unread iMessages / texts when my iPhone is restarted it will instantly do a notification flood for each one at the top of the screen
