Not sure what's going on but Messages is showing un-read, when all my messages have been read. Tried restarting with no luck (originally tried killing the Dock). Signed out/in of Messages and same issue. Anyone have an idea?
Also seeing your message could not be sent all the time. I go to the chat and scroll back a few days and don't see anything with an exclamation mark.
