It's out for Xbox next month, it'll be bundled free with the Xbox360 Blu-Ray player.

I need to see a video or an in-depth preview. If it's anything like Subsistence's online play, boo.

Agreed. It was mediocre at best. I'd much rather they just use their resources on single player endeavors for the MGS universe than multiplayer ones.

Is MGS4 2008 ?

If so this to me sounds like a cunning idea. Rip the multi-player game out of MGS4 and repackage it as MGS online and flog it on PSN or at retail and recoup some of the costs for MGS4 (which we will insist was never going to have a multiplayer section and MGS online even though is using the engine and actual assets of MGS4 is merely 'co-incidental' and is in fact a totally 'NEW' game ;) )

Konami + 1. Alastair Campbell 'The King Of Spin' would be proud.

Wow, has anyone looked at those screenshots?

Some seriously horrible textures... and using the same assets as MGS4? Yikes.

So far it's looking like the UMA on 360 is giving a lot better results... so many PS3 games are suffering from their PS2-texture illness :\

^ Yeah I've noticed in many games whilst there's plenty of poly power - the actual textures are pretty poor - and the lack of AA in a lot of ps3 games is rather dissapointing.

Downloaded Darkness demo on PSN last night. Looks like ***t side by side with the 360 version. Jaggies everywhere and the framerate drops were annoying.

I take back what I said about MGS4, btw. The cutscenes still look cheesy and over the top, but the gameplay itself looks fantastic.

^ I downloaded the 723mb HD video from IGN of the 15 minutes gameplay, and it's ok, but I still wasn't 'wowed'.

Animation is very good though, the level was a bit generic and too grey (like GOW) but damn sort out the Jaggies will you. If they are obvious on my MBP's screen - they are going to look worse on my 42" HDTV.

Another 513mb  Oh well it's downloading now....

lol and only about 50MB of it is worth watching!

And after watching the MGS video I am very Wow'd. Aside from few 'meh' spots graphically (in the dumpster you are treated to some nice low res textures) it looks really good overall. The action looks really fun as well. The FPS mode looks kinda clunky.... but overall it looks awesome. you can grab the dudes balls and make him pass out? lol Read a porno mag in the heat of battle? Kojima is an odd duck sometimes. I like the idea of using the sixaxis to tilt around corners, a good idea since console games rarely do that.

Agreed.....the level of detail after zooming was impressive, I also got a chuckle out of the SIXAXIS implementation within the game(snake using it to control MG MK II) :p
I am interested in the faster paced hand to hand combat within the game. Although the idea of infiltrating a full blown war zone(instead of a quiet, secure "fortress") has me intrigued.
