All Devices Migrating from Google Photos to Stock Photos and iCloud

I want to dump google but my biggest problem is photos. I have a lot of them in Google Photos organised in albums but want to get them all into iCloud Photos.

I can download them but was wondering if there is an easier way of getting them from Google Photos into iCloud and keep album structures etc?

also when I try to download to my camera roll from Google Photos loads of them fail but it doesn’t say why.

anyone any experience that can help.
