Mini capsule mics - better audio recordings

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience of using mini capsule mics with the iphone or ipod touch 2g?

I'd like to know their sensitivity compared to the integrated mic on the iphone or that found on apple earphones. I've used the latter for personal memo dictations, but it's not well suited for meetings or capturing ambient sounds (the audio recordings are too low and almost lost in the noise floor).

Any help would be appreciated.
