I have beta 1 installed on my 4s. I have noticed that 25% of the time I get a missed call when the phone is locked it doesn't show up on the lockscreen, or as a (1) icon on the phone app as there being a missed call.
The only way to know if you have one is to press Recents (also no (1) here) in the phone app and the first log will be a red missed call.
