Mojave install

have formatted new ssd and want to install Mojave os before making a ccc copy for back up.... want to download a dmg so the new drive gets targeted...... apple will download Mojave copy but its not showing up in download file and am afraid apple will just reinstall and not allow me to target new drive..........have tried several other sources but download does not proceed, is sip a factor ?.....

Have you looked in your Applications folder?
That's where Mojave may have downloaded to.

TIP: BEFORE you run the installer, make a copy of the Installer app (it's large) onto another volume. That way you have it "archived"...

the Mojave install is in your application folder, most likely
just tap that to launch the program.
