Mojave Installer Size

I would like to clean install Mojave from High Seirra.

When I go to Mojave from apple website it open app store and the size is 14.7 MB.

Is it correct size ?

Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support (SG)

Use an external drive or secondary volume as a startup disk from which to install macOS.

No, you probably got an (old) Mojave installer somewhere on a connected drive.
After succesfully deleting the old installer, Mojave installer download should show up as ~ 6GB (=the complete file).

i know that Mojave is slightly over 8GB

yes, 14.7mb but I'm running Mojave now

do you need a entire fish brand new version?
dosdude has one (from fixit)

could be, for me the install would not fit on a 8gb thumb drive in 2019
i could check on an external drive were i keep the OS.
but i don't think the exact size matters compared to getting the full download.

I have copy it to external hdd.

Install it later.
