I have a early 2011 13" MBP (upgraded to 8 GB RAM and with a SSD). Although Apple claims this Mac won't be supported by Mac OS Mojave, I still have the option in the App Store to download the update, it is even explicitly offered on the "Updates" page of the App Store now.

What will happen if I load it?

I'm in the same boat with my 2011 15" MBP. Our graphics card does not support Metal, so we can't install Mojave.

It's a shame because mine has 16GB RAM and I added an SSD as well. It's no longer my video editing laptop, but it's more than fast enough for nearly everything.
