I believe there are products for that. Same functionality, different physical shape, just like the one in Rusted Eyes' reply.

So the name of the hardware im looking for is a USB-C SATA adapter?
On the same adapter i can mount a spinner 2.5" drive too?
If theres more than one SSD the only solution is an ssd docking station?

Docking station, multi-bay enclosure…whatever you want to call it.

I have three SSDs attached to my Mac Studio via adapters similar to the one in post #2. One goes through a hub.

Don't USB-C ports provide that extra needed power?
Not enough, it seems. I have a few of these cheap ssd enclosures that is basically a connector (like in post 2), with a plastic case, that works fine with 2.5 ssds, but not with 3.5 spinners. IIRC there is a four-pin connector on the 3.5"s which is a 12volt power input, I believe.

Again...

Get a USB3.1 gen2 SATA docking station.

It can sit on the desk, it has its own power supply.
It can handle both 3.5" platter-based drives and 2.5" SSDs and platter-based drives.

One of the most useful peripherals you will ever own.

How can i mount a Samsung 860 Evo 1TB 2.5'' SATA III SSD to the USB-C port of my MBPro but without using an enclosure... is there a way by using just using cables and adapters?
Not sure why you'd want to be without an enclosure for something like this, especially as low profile USB3 SATA adapters that are barely bigger than the SATA drive + cable adapter are available for peanuts

e.g. https://www.amazon.com/ORICO-External-Enclosure-Tool-Free-2020C3-V1/dp/B0BM9D52L8?th=1

but yeah it does seem a bit dumb to take up an entire C port just for this

Why Dumb? Which port would you preferred to connect it to?
To be frank, I am thinking to connect it to a usb3 port on a hub I’ll have.

I mean you're tying up one of 4 (or two?) ports on your Mac for just one very undemanding device

And yes that sounds like a much better idea. I think the enclosure I linked to comes with both C and 3.0 cables
