mPlayer, Divx, and audio drift

Playing a DIVX file with mPlayer, i find the audio is either out of sync, or drifts out after some time playing. Any fix for this?

Does it only affect MPlayer? Try playing it in QuickTime and see what happens.

does not play in QT. But i did discover using DIVX doctor does process it so the audio problem is solved, but now there are artifacts in the video that were not present before. So now I am trying to nix that problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Doesn't play at all in QT? What codecs do you have installed? I use the free DivX decoder from http://www.divx.com, and the 3ivx codec from http://www.3ivx.com, and can play virtually anything.
