I noticed Plex on AppleTV won't automatically trigger my TV's 3D mode. Will MrMC do this? It's a 2016 LG.

To trigger 3D mode in the HDTV, there needs to be support from tvOS. There is none so no tvOS app can do that.

3D SBS detection does not involve switching the HDTV into 3D mode.
