iPhone Music app lag?

On my iPhone 4 (iOS 7.1.2), I've noticed that whenever I'm scrolling through my songs, there's a lag in the artwork, no matter how slow I scroll. This doesn't seem to be an issue for the artists and albums sections. I've tried restoring it, but there's no difference. Any ideas or fixes? Thanks.

It's been there since iOS 7 was released and is still present with iOS 8. It's not just a hardware thing.

My iPhone 6 can lag while scrolling through artwork and I know the A8 has the graphics power to scroll though square thumbnails.

This didn't seem to be a problem on my other iPhone though (same model and iOS version)

I've experienced it on an iPhone 4S, iPad 3, and iPhone 6 since iOS 7.
