iPod touch Music player "forgets" last position played

Ever since "upgrading" to iOS 6.0 (and now 6.0.1) I've had a problem with my music play that I never had before. I typically shuffle a playlist and listen in my car to and from work. Between car rides, I use my iPod Touch for different things like Facebook, Twitter, email, etc., the usual things. What's been happening is that when I get back into my car and plug in, the iPod has forgotten where it last left off, and picks a song that played recently but many tracks back, usually from the last time I did a sync to computer. I had hoped 6.0.1 would correct this but it has not. Anybody else having this problem, and knows how to fix it?

I'm having the same problem on my ip5. No clue on how to fix it though.
