I'm a believer in oddball ideas, so I made (what I'm fairly certain is) the first sequencer for the iMessage App Store, MusicMessages! The interface is mainly comprised of a grid of buttons, each representing a musical note in time. Tap in a few melodious chords, play back your piece, and send it off to a friend or a group conversation. The other participants will be able to add their own changes and send you the revised version, eventually forming a complete piece of music over time. Each user's notes are marked with their selected color, making it easy to track the evolution of a piece over time. There are 5 layers of notes, 40+ instruments, and a percussion set to work with.

The base app is free with a one-time IAP to unlock all the odds and ends, and messages received from unlocked users can be edited with the full feature set for free.

Here's the homepage: http://musicmessages.io

Hope you find this little experiment enjoyable!
