It's random because like last week it was working fine. I really hope the ol' girl ain't goin' to die on me?

Any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, the hard drive is probably getting ready to die. If you don't have all of the iPod's content, I'd make a complete copy of it, including the hidden folders.

You may attempt to completely restore the iPod, but that won't extend the life of the hard drive.

What a difference a few days makes! It's working fine again now. I guess I just worry too much.

But I do have my music backed up and organised elsewhere, just in case.

By the way - you can always force it to restart by holding the menu+middle button. My iPod classic was lagging hard as well but a reboot fixed it right up.

Always remember the 5 R’s!
