iM 4,1-14,4 My old iMac is slow and could have a failing hard drive. I booted it up from an external CCC backup. Should I try restoring from the backup?

Is there any chance that the OS is corrupted and restoring from the backup could fix my iMac?

Also I noticed there is a recovery option when holding Option and booting it up to the external HDD. Could this recovery option troubleshoot anything or tell me if the hard drive is indeed failing?
