Hello MacRumors,

Tip (or its full name, Universal Tip) is a programmable tooltip that can be used with any Mac OS app. You can select the text and hit the shortcuts to activate the tooltip with useful info.

"Useful info" is programmed by YOU using your fav programming language.

For me, who is prone to Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), Tip reduces hand movement and the risk of the injury. It also makes me work faster.

I've been using Tip for a few months now with several use cases. Here are some examples:

Tip works with any Mac OS app (e.g IntelliJ, Chrome, Terminal) because it is built on the system-wide service framework.

I use jump-to-file-in-intellij many times a day. It's the use case that I've found most useful!

I hope this will be useful to many people. If you are interested, please go to: https://github.com/tanin47/tip for more instruction.

Thank you!
