Any takers?

Have tried multiple methods and nothing has worked so far.

Do any of you have a decent solution to get this to work?

The db has changed from 1.3 to 1.4 and it's a pain to upgrade! :(

Have you contacted the developer? I just recently had an app that refused to update. Tried everything with no luck. I contacted the developer and to my surprise, I was not the only person with this issue. The developer actually had to provide me with a work around to do it.

Not sure what you mean by "developer".

If you mean the company that makes Magento, then i have posted in their forums.

Other than that, I am the "developer" in charge of updating the package.

Are you confusing this with an iOS app?

Yeah I meant company that makes Magneto. Did not realize you were in charge of the actual upgrade build. My apologies. Forgot which sub-forum I was in when I posted.

I wouldn't want to be in your shoes, the migration from magento 1.3 to anything higher seems to be a trifle hard, from what I read on the bulletin boards.

Why don't you migrate directly to 1.7 ?

I've migrated from 1.5 to now running Magento 1.7 and will migrate to 1.8 sometime this year. I always wait a bit to upgrade so that I know the new release is stable, but preferably I'm never more than one version behind.

You could try to use something like cart2cart ? They offer an automated solution to migrate your shop.

Here are some useful links :

****, sorry i missed this!

i'd love to migrate straight to 1.7 but from what i've read, the process would not be simpler than going from 1.3 up, because they made a lot of changes, mainly to the db, and it's a bitch to get working properly. i've been trying for a week to no avail. i will do more tests with magmi and maybe just import all the products, images, stocks, categories etc...

i've seen cart2cart but they charge and that's not really an option for me right now, it might be though if i can't figure this **** out. :)

I checked the prices again, and they do charge an arm and a leg. Cart2Cart seems to be the best bet if you have less than 2500 pieces.

Sorry I couldn't help you out further. I also have a magento shop, but I'm just the user - I probably don't have enough savvy to help you out, methinks.

Good luck !

Although I have any experiences about technology, but I suggest you to use this migration tool from LitExtension. Your database can be moved super easily without any technical knowledges.

Although this topic is old but never cool down. Well looks like there’s just the tool to help you with your Magento -Litextesion: http://cartmigration.com/category/cart-migration-tools/magento-migration/
It’s easy-to-use, secure, swift and offers a great data transfer quality. It supports migration of all entities you need such as products, orders, customers, SEO URLs, categories, review, sensitive data such as customer passwords, etc.
