my parents are still using their 7 and 7 plus with 32GB storage. the phone itself is fine for their usage but storage is getting short even after they upload everything to icloud. now that 13's out, i have the following choice to consider, which pair should i recommend them to get.

1. 13 mini (dad prefers smaller phone) and 13 with base storage of 128GB
2. 12 mini and 12 with 64GB
3. 12 mini and 11 with 64GB

they just use social media app to communicate with their friends and reading news. i would go 11 to save them some $$$ but want them to have a 5G phone for future proof.

I'd personally go with option 1. There's really not much price difference from the 12. The larger storage and longer battery life will likely help the phones last longer as well.

They're all good choices and you can't go wrong with any of them. It basically comes down to whether you want to spend the extra $ for a slightly improved phone on newer models — improvements that may not matter at all to your parents.

not really care about the newer chips, but i'm torn between 11 and the 5G models. 11 would be perfect for them, simple, light, can last for at least 5 years. but lacking 5G is holding me back.

Do more research about the effectiveness of 5G in their area. For most people, 5G accomplishes nothing significant.
