Lion will be too old to recognize the security protocol in use on your network. Most likely this would be WPA3, which isn't supported on old versions of OS X. You may be able to set your wifi network to allow WPA2 connections.

That Mac only supports up to 10.7.5 I think, so I'd suggest rather plugging it in via Ethernet
