New ADs on Safari Google searches in iOS

About a month or so ago Safari began showing ads in my search results when I performed a google search. They are clearly identified and easy to skip over, but typically take a whole screen and must be scrolled through. They are identified with a gold "Ad" box to the side.

They do not appear on all searches, just some. For example when I type in "pizza" the first 2 results are google ads:
Ad http://www.pizzahut.com/Deals
Ad http://www.dominos.com/

Who implemented this change ? Google? Apple? How can it be avoided? I found an app called Duck Duck Go which is supposed to be a searching app with better privacy that I could use, but first choice would be to fix the integrated Safari / Google searches. Is there a way to use a different search engine in Safari? I'm already jailbroken.

Google implemented the chagne.

You can try revert back to the old Google layout by clearing your Safari cookies. This may work if Google hasn't rolled out the change completely. BTW, you still get ads on the old Google layout, it's just a lot harder to see.

I am also facing the same problem. By deleting all the cookies the problem gets solved for some time. However it resurfaces again once you start using safari again.
