I purchased a 4 pack and put one in my wallet, tried to test out the sound feature and it was able to tell me my wallet was in my house, but unable to play sound. I was 3'' away. any idea why that isn't working? kind of useless without this feature working for items left in the house!

You activated the sound and it was silent, or it didn't give you the option to activate a sound?
If you take it out of your wallet, does it make a sound then? Could there be too much pressure on the casing that's causing the pizo speaker element to fail?
That's odd. You can try to reset it & see if that works!
