i got an app approved for the mac app store more than 25 hours ago and I've been able to search for it since yesterday but the problem is that its not showing in the new apps section, how long is it supposed to take to show up in there.

Not quite sure what you mean by the 'new apps' section? If you're talking about the 'Best New Apps' section on the Mac App Store homepage, then they're hand selected by Apple to be featured.
