It's great seeing all these apps coming out without a "real" developer kit.

This should shut up all those naysayers whining about the iPhone's lack of a voice recording app. ;)

I wish they included instructions as to how to get this loaded. Seems to require Jailbreak, etc. etc? I sure wish it was easy.

1. Jailbreak
2. Enable SSH
3. Copy the .app folders to /Applications
4. chmod +x the binaries inside the .app folders.
5. Restart your iPhone and the icon will be there.

General - Perfect. Nice & clear. Thank you so much. :)

Anyone try installing more than 4 apps to see what the home screen does?

Perhaps just take that app and do:

cp <name>.app name1.app
cp <name>.app name2.app
cp <name>.app name3.app
cp <name>.app name4.app
chmod a+x *.app

and see what happens?

You could write a shell script to install it for you. There's an automated SSH install script, you could add jailbreak before it, and the app installation and chmod after it if you like. That would work.

This is what i was told in another thread.

Hopefully the start of a lot of applications appearing. Wonder what happens when you put more than 16 applications on there.

Someone tried it and posted a video.

The main portion only shows 4x4 = 16 and doesn't scroll, or at least he couldn't find a way to make it do so. The bottom dock will hold up to 5 icons.

Sorry. If you can't use Google, and if you don't know what chmod is, then doing all of the steps to get it to work will REALLY REALLY be complicated for you.

They will most likely release a GUI program to do it for you.

Apple finally did it. They convinced me to buy a mac. I miss tcsh, and I'm tired of missing out on this hacking fun.

Let's see what gets announced tomorrow.
