iPhone 11 new earbuds picking up a lot of noise

I picked up a new pair of earbuds recently, and noticed they seem to have two microphones, one near the right earbuds, the other further down the cord. They pick up lots of external noise, even if I so much as move my arm or move my head while wearing them, so trying to listen to audio becomes really annoying. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to disable the mic while I'm listening to audio - is there an iphone setting that will allow me to do this? Thank you.
