Do I have any options? I hate using the space on my phone to hold music and I really don't want to lose my ability to shuffle through all of my IPOD songs on long trips.

I assume you mean the iPod is not recognized via a USB connection? That is not surprising these days. Does your car have an AUX input? That is the simplest solution, and using a dock cable will give you the best quality.

Maybe This could work? It has been a number of years since I've had a Classic and I have never used these Bluetooth adapters, but if your car doesn't have an AUX spot I know it will have Bluetooth.
