What are your feelings on the software driven home button on the 8?

I understand that the mechanical issue of the older button was occasional failure, but not sure how I feel about a strictly software driven interface...

What say you all?

The last button on the 7 series was also software driven. It’s the very same.

I don't see the point in the software home button option.
But, that's just my opinion. Then again, I'm from the BlackBerry days, and I'm used to gestures. So...

I prefer the feedback of the clicky button... much more satisfying.

That being said, I'm actually pretty impressed by the software approximation. It almost feels like the real thing!

I agree with you, the mechanical button is much more satisfying in the tactile sense, but the button on the 7/8 is quite surprisingly responsive.

I also am in the brotherhood of the blackberry for work, until I’m forced off my classic for an android device or iPhone.
I much prefer the B.B. for work though.
